It was a weekend of perseverance and progress for the two-car Precision Racing LA effort featuring the #7 and #37 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Closing the weekend with a pair of top ten results, it was a solid weekend, especially for the Tomlinson duo who drove from 14th to 7th in the four-hour affair.
In practice, the #7 duo of Ryan Eversley and Celso Neto showed early promise, finishing 8th and 7th across the two sessions. Meanwhile, the father-daughter pairing of Megan and Ron Tomlinson in the #37 car delivered consistent performances, placing 13th in both sessions. Qualifying followed suit, with Eversley and Neto securing 7th on the grid while the Tomlinsons locked in 14th for the start of the four-hour endurance race.
When the green flag flew, the Tomlinson pair put together their strongest performance of the season. Displaying impressive consistency and pace, they battled their way to a season-best 7th place finish, a major highlight for the Am/Am driver pairing.
“We’re incredibly proud of what Megan and Ron were able to achieve this weekend,” said Ryan Eversley. “Another top-ten finish for an Am/Am lineup speaks volumes to their dedication and how far they’ve come this season.”
The #7 car, however, faced adversity early on. Gearbox issues forced an extended visit to the garage, costing the team nearly twenty laps. But once repairs were made, the duo returned to the track with competitive pace, ultimately clawing back to finish 10th overall.
“It was a top-ten result after a pretty abysmal start to the race,” explained Eversley. “The good news is it’s a four-hour race, and once we got the car sorted, we had a clean run. We were running in the top five in the line with the lead pack. Celso was the star of the race—he’s such a little rockstar, and I’m proud to be driving with him.”
Celso Neto added, “Yeah, it was a tough race. I had a promising start and ran inside the top five while the car was strong. After the gearbox issue and repairs, we came back out and showed great pace—I even logged the third-best lap of the race and the fastest sector two during my stint. We’re close. We just need to put the full race together and we’ll be fighting for wins.”
With clear signs of improvement and pace across both entries, the team now looks ahead with momentum and confidence for the next round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Watkins Glen International June 19 – 21st.
