Precision Racing LA continued its campaign with a double top-ten finish this weekend at Watkins Glen International in Round Five of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Both team entries brought home valuable points in the highly competitive TCR class during the two-hour endurance race.
The #7 Audi RS3 LMS TCR, driven by Celso Neto and Ryan Eversley, qualified second in class and maintained a front-running pace for much of the race. Neto executed a strong opening stint, running third before making a move into second just prior to pitting. A delay during the pit stop and a late-race fuel issue hindered their progress, but the duo recovered well to finish eighth overall in class.
“Another tough result,” said Neto. “We had a great first stint and made the move into second before the stop. Unfortunately, a pit stop issue set us back, costing us a better result—possibly even the win. We’ll regroup and come back stronger next time.”
Eversley added, “The car was the best we’ve had all season. A fuel issue meant we needed a splash late in the race, but we were able to fight back. With everything going on in front of us, staying out of trouble and bringing home a top-ten finish was a solid outcome. I’m proud of the effort and looking forward to the next round.”
The #37 Audi RS3 LMS, piloted by Ron and Megan Tomlinson, also delivered one of its best performances of the season with a tenth-place finish. Running consistent laps and overcoming an early race penalty, the father-daughter duo capitalized on race attrition to move up through the field.
“This was Race Five of the Michelin Pilot Challenge, so we’re now halfway through the season,” added Megan Tomlinson. “The team worked hard to fix the gearbox issues we faced earlier in the weekend. Unfortunately, I was given a penalty following slight contact when a slower car stacked up in the bus stop. Still, we brought it home P10, and I’m really excited for my next event at my home track in Canada.”
The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge returns to action July 11–13 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Bowmanville, Ontario—Megan Tomlinson’s home circuit and a fan favorite on the calendar.
